2025 reading goals

New year, new book goals! This is only my third year setting myself an actual reading goal, and my first year adding in some little side quests, so I'm really excited. I've got a separate page set up to record my progress on each of these goals, which I'm hoping will help keep me on track. The goals 45 books I know I smashed my goals last year I still wanted something realistic for myself (because I know me, and the lulls can be very real!!) So, 45 seemed a fair jump up from 20. It's still less than 1 book per week, so when life gets busy I have some wiggle-room there. But it's not so few that I'll be able to slack off. Of those 45 books, I have some sub-goals as well, just to keep things interesting! 10 work book club reads My work started up a book club last year, which I obviously immediately signed up for. However, I only managed to read 2 of the books out of the 6 that happened. So this year I'd like to do a much better job of being involved ...

a(nother) new blog

I've lost count of how many 'first posts' I've written over the years, and whether they were for online blogs or my personal journals, they've always been awkward to write. This blog has been started as a carry-over from my previous Cinder Says website, but just starting all over again. I've made the move from Wordpress thanks to a pretty ugly situation. In short, I hadn't been using my website for a long time so decided to let my upgraded Wordpress plan expire, taking me back to the free version. In doing so, I lost the ability to have it connected to my cindersays.com domain name (which, thankfully, I own independently of Wordpress). I don't understand the ins and outs of it, but essentially once my premium plan expired and my domain name was removed, somehow it all got pointed to hardcore porn websites. My domain provider was great, and spent awhile trying to sort it out for me, but said it was on Wordpress's end and there was nothing he could do...

📚February mini-reviews

Monthly Reading Wrap-Up Another solid month full of great books that I really enoyed. Though, when I look at what I've been reading, it's mostly romance of some variety, and I'd like to try and mix that up a bit more over the coming months. We'll see how I go - I like contemporary romance, because I am such a sucker for banter. I've never been witty, so reading conversations between characters who are is a delight.
